Annealing and pickling

An annealing and pickling line (APL) softens the hot rolled strip by heating the silicon steel up to the annealing temperature, then removes the superficial scale thanks to a pickling section. The main goal of this line is to deliver a product that can be cold rolled. It is used for the production of grain oriented (GO) and non grain oriented (NGO) steels.

Drever International furnaces allow to heat the strip in a controlled atmosphere to avoid further oxidation of the surface before the pickling process. They also have a perfect control of the heating and of the cooling rate requested to perform the heat treatment of the most advanced steel grades.

Annealing and coating

An annealing and coating line (ACL) is used for recrystallization, texture formation and grain size adjustment of the silicon steel by heating the strip up to the annealing temperature. After cooling of the strip it applies onto its surface a varnish thanks to a coating machine.

The main goal of this line is to deliver a final product that can be used to manufacture electrical motors or small transformers.

Drever International furnaces allow to heat the strip in a controlled atmosphere to keep a clean surface suitable for the coating process. They also have a perfect control of the heating and of the cooling rate requested to perform the heat treatment of the most advanced steel grades.

Decarburization and coating

A decarburizing and coating line (DCL) reduces the carbon content of the steel by heating the strip up to the decarburizing temperature, and then applies onto its surface a water based magnesia slurry thanks to a coating machine.

The main goal of this line is to deliver a product that can be used in the high temperature annealing made by batch annealing (HTA).

Drever International furnaces allow to heat the strip in a controlled atmosphere to keep a clean surface suitable before the coating process with magnesia. They have also a perfect control of the heating and of the cooling rate requested to perform the heat treatment of the most advanced steel grades.

Flattening and coating

A flattening and coating line (FCL) is used to apply and dry the insulation varnish on the strip, then to reheat the strip, release the internal tensions and perform a hot stretching.

The main purpose of this line is to deliver a final product that can be used to manufacture transformers.

Drever International furnaces allow to heat the strip in a controlled atmosphere to keep a clean surface after the coating process. They also have a perfect control of the heating and of the cooling rate requested to perform the heat treatment of the most advanced steel grades.
